Miata ND MagStand

The DFWcomposites’ MagStand for the Miata ND is designed to be the most stable and useable mount for your ND. We started by 3D scanning the dashboard’s geometry, and then artfully designed an attractive mount that is perfectly situated and looks like it was an OEM part of the dashboard thanks to its flowing shape that blends into the Miata’s dashboard’s design lines.

The magnetic mount is MagSafe compatible and is extremely strong. Your phone will stay put and will not vibrate, rotate, or otherwise come out of alignment with its perfectly oriented position thanks to the stand’s wide base of support. Using the 3D scan, we baked in a fixed angle that puts the phone directly angled towards the driver, regardless of the seat position. We intentionally left out an adjustable ball joint as we find them to be wobbly and prone to loosening and unintentional repositions. Furthermore, this magnetic mount is so strong that any ball joint would certainly be inadvertently repositioned during dismounting of your phone.

The stand is printed from PETG-CF and attaches to your dashboard via a semi-permanent 3M double sided tape. This means the mount is easy to install, but can also be removed if necessary without any damage to your car.

The main design goal of this mount was to position your phone in what we think is the perfect spot: it is in the most visible position without obstructing any of your driving view, and is in the most ergonomically available position, allowing for you to interact with your device when needed without taking your eyes off of the road.

• Perfectly position your phone: put your navigation just off your line of site so that you can look at it without taking your eyes off the road. Your phone’s position is still within the hood line, so your line of site to the road is not obstructed.
• Attractive design: the lines of the stand blend into the Miata’s dashboard’s lines, and the part fits in perfectly due to our 3D scanning of the dashboard.
• Solid mount and strong magnets: this is likely the strongest magnetic mount that you’ll ever experience. Compatible with MagSafe and generic metal plates.
• Ergonomically positioned and shaped: your phone is within easy reach, and the curved shape of the MagStand allows for you to cradle the back of it to support your hand while you use your thumb for input. Other stands require you to support your hand and peck at your phone screen, which due to other stand’s flimsy designs, may be bouncing around and vibrating.  
• Maintains your cupholder slot: many stands on the market necessitate the use of your front cupholder mounting point; the MagStand allows you to continue to use it as a cupholder. Additionally, the MagStand doesn’t block your HVAC vents.

The mount is compatible with LHD cars only. Compatible with all ND1, ND2, and ND3 models, including ND3s with the larger 8.8" infotainment display. 

The MagStand is compatible with all phones that support MagSafe or have a metal plate. The MagStand ships with a metal ring, however if your phone or case doesn't already support MagSafe, we recommend getting a case that has a MagSafe ring built in. 

The MagStand is postioned so that mounted phones sit clear of the HVAC vent; all phone sizes including Samsung Galaxy Ultra and iPhone Max series will fit.
